ALBUM REVIEW: THE WOLVES
In the world of Alt-Emo, Sinking Season’s The Wolves is amongst the most genre-defying albums with influences such as Alternative, Post-Hardcore, Emo, and Heavy Rock. The Wolves is beyond a Post-Emo masterpiece with moments that would make the gold standard of Emo blush from the opening notes to the close of the LP.
ALBUM REVIEW: THERAPY
"I thought this a good album from beginning to end. The songwriting was consistent and the album felt cohesive which helped give the artist a signature sound. Perhaps the most appealing aspect is the visceral quality this release has. That aspect may provide the listener some therapy through the art which is a beautiful thing. "
WHO IS SINKING SEASON?
Sinking Season is an innovative post-emo band hailing from Seattle, WA. They craft dynamic and genre-defying songs that draw from a variety of alternative, post-hardcore, pop-punk, emo, and heavy rock influences. The band's journey began in Central Valley, CA as a dual vocalist project. Their first DIY release, "Awake for the Winter" was released in 2015 and quickly gained popularity, with tracks like "The Water", "Vacant", and "Overlap" being played on local radio stations and becoming fan favorites. Over the next two years, Sinking Season performed at numerous shows and festivals, until they went on hiatus in 2017 when the original members relocated.
After a four-year break, Sinking Season re-emerged in Seattle, WA in late 2021. They recorded their first fully-produced album, "Therapy" which was mixed and mastered by Nathan Hussey of All Get Out and released in March 2022. That same year, they also released a 20-track compilation album, "From The Past" which included re-recorded versions of old classics and previously unreleased tracks. Following the releases, the band embarked on a 6-state tour to promote their music.
In spring of 2023, the band toured half of the US, playing 35 shows in 60 days and building hype for LP2. "The Wolves" was released in June 2023 and has been a huge boost for the band, landing them to sign with Don't Blink Music Group. They are now looking forward to touring the album nationwide over the next year, with no sense of slowing down.
